AJD Tuna Limited – 100% ownership
The company was established in 1999 with a Japanese company, which specialises in the marketing of bluefin tuna in the Asian market. The tuna ranch, is located at two sites: St.Paul’s Bay having a capacity of 2500 metric tonnes and Comino having a production of 500 metric tonnes of bluefin tuna and a further 500 metric tonnes of sea bass/bream.
Malta Mariculture Limited – 100% ownership
This company was acquired in 2002 by AJD Tuna Ltd. It was previously owned by Maltese investors and run by Sterling University of Scotland. This company also owns a land base grading and packing station for the sea bass and sea bream. This station is HACCP and EU compliant.
Marifresh International Limited – 100% ownership
This company was established in 2005 to handle Azzopardi Fisheries international investments in the Mediterranean region.
Lvant Tuna Limited – 100% ownership
This company was established in 2006 to handle Azzopardi Fisheries blue fin tuna farm in Limassol, Cyprus.
Hannibal Fishing Limited – 100% ownership
This company was established in 2004 and owns a state of the art deep-sea trawler which operates in tandem with a trawler owned by an associate company. The trawlers are suitable for the fishing of king prawns, squids, deep-sea cod and octopus. Following the completion of the trawlers at a Tunisian Shipyard, the vessels began operating in May 2005.
