The partnership invested in the construction and the commissioning of:

• a modern state the art cold store with movable storage modules having a capacity of 1200 m/tons, and
• a modern processing area.

The project that is intended to be fully EU and HACCP compliant will result in:

• Improvements in productivity, yields and quality
• Improved stock control, optimisation of stock holdings and increases in product mixes
• Increased shelf live, more robust products capable of withstanding handling without compromising quality

The modernisation of the processing infrastructure will eventually create a demand and a decent price for fish species such as lampuki, allongi and mackerel which in current times have not been too lucrative for local fisherman.
